Hello, I'm afraid of seeing so much application having so much permissions (gps, sms, contacts...). Have you an idea/scheduled feature to display them, sort applications by permission, remove permissions, block them, ask a manual confirmation for each application... Thanks a lot for our privacy and security :-)

When you restore from a backup, it installs all the programs that you backed-up. I love it.

But question, the programs that you restore, will the Market detect them and let you know if any updates for them release?

Yes, it's physically back-up (copy) applications to the SD. Apk - it's extension of application files for Android. After backup it can be installed latter from sd card. So you can keep different versions of applications on sd card, if new version of some app broken after update, you can install old one from sd and wait till author fix current version.

Hi, forgive my ignorance... Does this physically back-up (copy) applications to the SD card so they can be reinstated after a reset, or does it just save a link to the Android Market so you can reinstall later?
What is a .apk file?
Thanks.

Personally, I would like to see an option to arrange (move the icons) the apps by categories that I name myself, such as games, business, internet, etc... And also a place to install widgets into one of the categories...

It will be problematic and you should have rooted phone. Probably best way to backup all data is to use nand backup through recovery menu.
