I installed LockPattern OnOff onto my Samsung Moment (Sprint) but it did not function and when I uninstalled it, part of it stayed behind in a really ugly form.
When I first installed it, I added it as a widget and it appeared on my screen. When I then clicked on it, it toggled green or red appropriately, but it did not do anything else. That is, it did not lock or engage the locking pattern screen or anything at all.
So I uninstalled it. But it didn’t entirely uninstall. Now there is a blank rectangular icon on my screen where the widget used to be, and the words “problem loading widget.”
Please help!!! I’ve turned the phone off and back with no effect.

Long press the rectangle box and drag to trash

NOTE: PROBLEM SOLVED
I simply held my finger down on the rectangular box where the icon used to be, then when the phone vibrated, dragged the icon to the trash.
Seems like I just had to throw the shadow of the shortcuts away.

I went to uninstall this app but it only took it off my application list but didn’t take it off my phone so I still have to use it everytime I go to use my phone. I even took it to verizon and they couldn’t get it off. Is this a virus or bug!? Please help me get it off my phone!
Thanks!

Lock Pattern – it’s default android feature. Our widget – it’s just toggle for it. You can disable or change pattern in System Settings -> Security & location.

It’s android issue. If you have root you can reset it with adb. Otherwise only way is to reset phone.

Hello Jessie
Actually password and login from gmail should works. If it not, try to use your gmail login (without @gmail.com) and password null.
Here is official Google Help for this question

LOL. I see so many comments about this “issue”. I think that people should get to know the features of their phone before DLing apps. They just sound retarded when they complain about things they don’t understand. haha.

Cannot change the pattern – go to security and it says ‘screen unlock pattern’ but the only option available is to change unlock password. Ideas? Love the app, just want to change the pattern . . .

Hi,
I have a HTC wildfire, I also have a HTC Hero.
On the Hero phone under settings/security I can set graphical password, no problems at all.
On the Wildfire there is no such setting.
So I installed this widget to try and get graphical password in the wildfire phone.
Well, I set a password, entered it again, but it don’t seem to be working at all.
I activate it (turning green) but the wildfire don’t seem to use it at all?
Am I doing something wrong or isn’t it working on wildfire?

I’m set the security pattern for my new HTC wildfire when playing around with it, but for the life of me I can’t remember what it is. I’ve tried all the patterns that I think it could be but no luck, and I haven’t connected the phone to the net at all yet. Is there a way to reset the pattern so I can use my phone??

1. reset with your login and password
2. try to use null as password

For 2.2, make sure to change your security timings. My default was 20 minutes and it looked like the app didn’t work. Once I changed it to 2 minutes, it worked great.

Does this widget work with froyo? Yes or no? What does “2.2 API is now closed mean”?
[Reply]
Vladimir Baryshnikov Reply:

This means, that 3d party apps now can’t enable/disable pattern, only by system apps or directly by user.

How much $$$ do you want for the lock screen app to work again on Droid 2.2(froyo). I whish I never updated this app since the new update renders it useless.
The lesson I learned is always read the comments before updating an app, you may not like the results when you update.

It’s not an update, it’s problem in android 2.2. Api is now closed. This app still works fine on all versions of android till 2.2

Are you sure? How does the “NoLock” widget do this? (https://market.android.com/details?id=org.jraf.android.nolock&feature=search_result). Its ust that your widget looks so much better, and can be configured to not have a label.

Hi, i used to love this widget, but after froyo it only makes a shortcut to set and than on the pattern… it uset to work directly to on or off this feature.. is there something wrong with my desire on froyo, or that is no longer possible becouse, i dont know, android security reasons? Have anyone the same experience?

Hello, I had this toggle (lock screen off/on) on my G1, LOVED it, best app ever. Just got a G2 and for 3 days and hours of frustration I can NOT get it to work!
My phone is rooted if that makes a difference. I followed your instructions and all the toggle does is take me back to the screen to draw the pattern everytime. It does NOT work as a simple one tap on/off toggle anymore!
In fact the icon itself does not have a on/off picture anymore, just a picture of a big lock. (my wifi and gps curvefish widgets have the off/on next to icon like the pattern widget use to on my G1.
PLS HELP! thank you!

Hi.
(Using Huawei U8300 Andoid 2.1)
Is there another way to change the unlock code as shown everywhere on the internet (Settings->Security&Location) <- there is no change "change pattern". This menu didn't change at all.
Also tried to reinstall the app – no luck – pattern stays the same.
Thanks in advance.

Hello,
I’m using a HTC Sensation and your app is exactly the one that I was looking for!
But sadly enough it doesn’t work as an on/off button, but it redirects me to the setting menu. I thinks Rocketeer has the same problem. I hope this is fixable because I love your app idea!
Thanks,
Stefan

You’re getting a lot of negative feedback on the Market that this widget no longer toggles. Pretty disappointing, though I’m not the sort to whine on the Market. So I’ll just beg here
Please fix this widget and re-release! I’ll be sure to give the 5 stars…

Hi curvefish,
I just installed your app on my Flytouch 3 (Android 2.2) and I could lock off with PIN and logon again, which is nice!
Then I did the same with pattern, I could lock off, but cannot logon anymore, which is not nice! When I slide the button from left to right, nothing happens! Maybe this is very high security, but I don’t like it! How can I get back into my lovely Flytouch?
Thanks for you help!

Hi…installed lock pattern on flytouch 3. now the slide to unlock has changed and moved to the bottom of the screen towards the middle. it says “slide to unlock” when i slide to unlock the white curser moves but the tablet will not unlock.
How ever on the other hand if i press and hold the power button the curser changes to red and says “slide to power off”, this seems to work fine.
Please advise
